COOKIE POLICY

1. What are cookies?

As clarified by the Italian Data Protection Authority in their FAQs of December 2012, cookies are ‘small text files’ – consisting of
letters and numbers – ‘that websites visited by you send to your terminals – generally your browsers. Cookies are stored there
and then retransmitted to the corresponding websites the next time that you visit those sites’. Cookies are meant to streamline
the analysis of web traffic or flag when a specific website or part of a website is visited, to distinguish visitors from one another in
order to provide customized content, and to help administrators improve websites and user experience. Through cookies we
cannot access other information stored on your devices, even if cookies are downloaded there. Cookies cannot upload any
codes of any kind, carry viruses or malware and are not harmful to your terminals.
Below you will find all the information relevant to the cookies installed through this website as well as all necessary tips on how
to manage your cookie preferences.

2. Informed consent to the use of cookies

When you visit any page of this website for the first time an information banner on the use of cookies will be displayed where
you will find all information on how to manage your installation preferences (consent).
Our website will recall the choices you have made, so the abridged version of the Cookie policy will not be displayed again when
you next connect from the same device. However, you will be allowed to fully or partly withdraw your consent after that it has
been granted at any time.
Should you experience any technical problems when providing your consent, please contact us through the appropriate means
available on this website so that we can provide you with assistance.

3. Duration of cookies

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies: cookies that are stored during a session on a user’s computer and are deleted when the browser is shut.
    They are strictly used only to transmit session IDs for safely and efficiently surfing websites, thus avoiding other techniques
    which might be harmful to user privacy when browsing the Internet.
  • Persistent cookies: cookies that are stored on the user’s hard disk until they expire or are deleted by users/visitors.
    Through persistent cookies, visitors accessing a website, or any other users using the same computer, are automatically
    recognized at each visit. Visitors can set their computer’s browsers to accept/reject all cookies or to display a warning
    whenever a cookie pops up so that they can assess whether or not to accept it. However, users can modify their default
    settings and disable cookies, i.e. block them permanently, by setting the highest level of protection.

4. Types of cookies

Cookies can be:

  • First-party cookies: cookies that feature this website as the domain;
  • Third-party cookies: cookies that come from external domains.

Third-party cookies are installed by external parties referred to as ‘third-parties’. Such parties are not managed by this website.
Another type of cookies are the so-called ‘flash cookies’ (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver
certain content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on
the user’s device, but are managed through a different interface than the browser's interface.
We also use Facebook’s pixel technology, a (third-party) tool consisting of a small piece of programming code embedded in our
website that enables us to collect statistical data, monitor the actions taken on our website by visitors, create customized target
groups watching our ads as well as take advantage of many other related features.

5. Nature of cookies

As regards their nature, cookies can be:

  • Technical cookies: cookies used for the unique purpose of  ‘transmitting communication on an electronic communications
    network, or else to the extent which is strictly necessary for communications service providers to provide services explicitly
    requested by subscribers or users’.
    They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be
    subdivided into:

    • navigation or session cookies, which ensure the smooth surfing and use of the website (for example, in order to make
      purchases or authenticate access to restricted areas). Such cookies are in fact necessary for the smooth functioning of the site;
    • analytics cookies: similar to technical cookies if they are used directly by the site operator to collect aggregate information
      on the number of users and how they visit the website, with a view to improving the site performance;
    • functionality cookies: they enable users to navigate in accordance with a number of selected criteria (e.g., language,
      products selected for purchasing) in order to improve the services provided to users. For the installation of these cookies no
      prior user consent is requested (for more information read the paragraph ‘Management of cookies’ below).
  • Profiling cookies: cookies that are aimed at creating profiles of the user and are used to send advertising messages in line
    with the user preferences as part of the navigation on the network. Profiling cookies can only be used with prior consent by data
    subjects. Third-party cookies cannot be controlled by us. We are not entitled to control, install or delete such cookies. You can
    still manage these cookies through your browser settings (following the instructions below), or the sites listed in the “Cookie
    management” section.

set by third parties and has no access to the information collected by such cookies. Information about the uses and purposes of
